It is our job to help employers choose the right work for the right person. It is our job to identify employees’ strengths.
Pre-placement medicals are carried out before someone is hired. The medical assessment that is right depends on the person’s role, and on the specific hazards they will be exposed to in that work. The purpose of the assessment is to fit prospective employees’ needs to business need by ensuring that individuals’ needs are matched to the correct role.
At this stage Asante OHS has an opportunity to establish baseline and foundations at the start of employment that will help both prospective employees and employers create a working relationship, an enjoyable work environment by bringing out the best of each employee and matching employee to role.
Asante OHS looks at individual employee’s needs and business needs. The purpose is to create a suitable balance for employee and employer, aiming for a safe working environment, healthy employees and a successful and productive business.
Asante OHS takes this opportunity to assess physical and mental health capacity and limitations in relation to the demands of the role and work environment.
Asante OHS is particularly interested in identifying prospective employees that may be susceptible to specific work hazards. At this stage the employer is advised if health surveillance programmes in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act, or workplace adjustments in line with the Equality Act, are required.
Asante OHS is also keen to identify prospective employees with health problems, limitations or vulnerability that may create a health and safety risk at work, public safety concerns, safeguarding risk, or may create challenges in fulfilling the role in other ways. At this stage the employer is advised if safety critical medicals or workplace adjustments are necessary.
