Well managed work is good for you, but hazards at work can affect your health.
Contact UsHAVS health surveillance is recommended for workers using hand-held vibrating tools.
The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations
HSE (UK) has guidance on when action should be taken. Uncontrolled use of vibrating tools can damage blood vessels, nerves, muscles and other tissues of the hand.
HAVS health surveillance includes completion of the questionnaires and physical examination. This is done at the start of exposure and at intervals for as long as the exposure remains.
