The Confined Spaces Regulations

Hazards in an enclosed space vary depending on the nature of the work. These will include access to oxygen or air, ability to manoeuvre within the space, environmental factors such as heat, and ability to call for assistance or exit in case of danger.

Confined space medical involves a number of elements, to include completing questionnaires, lung function tests, hearing tests, vision assessment and physical examinations. The assessment is to ensure that workers are physically and mentally fit to work in enclosed spaces. This is done at the start of employment and at intervals.
